d...

duhrrrr...here's some news - went to my cousin Mark's wedding today - it was great, and so's his new wife. The ceremony was at the park in my hometown, in the Japanese gardens, and the weather was goijus! Then on to the Log Cabin which has spectaculah views of the mountains...and a spectaculah bartendress who knew everyone's drinks after the first request. Justin accidentally put a 10 bucker in her tip jar, thinking it was a 1 and had to fish it out...which wasn't hard cuz there was only one other dollar in there at the time. He found a single, tho. What's less tactful, taking out a big bill and replacing it, or making change with the tip money in the jar like this other guy did..hmm? My uncles got their groove on, I swear there's a recessive African gene in them cuz they can actually danceto the beat of the music, not the beat in their heads like all the other folks. Even grandpa was shakin' his groove thang and he said he was just getting warmed up cuz he's "from southern Sweden"(???)The rest of us WASPS flailed our limbs about like we were wearing itchy wool sweaters that were bunched up in our armpits. I looked purty dang snazzy in my new glamo-gal dress and grandmother's only complaint was why wasn't I wearing any jewelry. She should be happy I was in such a fancy frock with my hair up so she could see my "beautiful face" not "hidden by my mane of hair". Love you too, Gram!Brenda and I dodged the tossing of the bouquet for fear of getting a strange man sliding a garter belt up our legs. Table 6 ruled with a mix of Mark and Anna's cousins, longtime pals and work friends, one of which had about 2 lbs of metal embedded in his head. We were in the corner and misbehaved the entire time whilst getting sloshed(is that the correct term Funktress?) Twas goodtimes and I was able to escape from the dance floor after being pulled onto it pre-inebration. doh! I did feel bad and hope the guy didn't take it personally, but I need to get tipsy enuf so the reflection of me dancing in the windows isn't a shock to my system.I'm told I'm supposed to sleep with a piece o' the cake under my pillow and I'll dream of the man I'll marry...but considering who's been in my dreams lately I'll pass. That and I don't want to be blinded by buttercream frosting.

Once upon a time in land FURTHER away...

So I gots me a new job. doing the same ole thang, but more of it and more moolah. whoopdeewhoop. I don't like it so much and I'm entering week 3. I hope it gets better cuz I DO like the paychecks. The people there are pretty nice....just not a great diversity - except for me and one other chic and the janitor and the director they are all grandmothers, some perhaps GREAT grandmas. One old lady drives the bookmobile and another is much more spry, I'm told, what with her new hip! The janitor could be retired and I will never ask him for a ladder again, for the risk of him lugging it to me could easiy lead to a coronary. This is NOT the exciting change I was in need of and I'm too tired to paint. wanh!So my plan is this - suck it up and save up as much moolah as I can so I can break outa here b4 I'm too old and feeble to care. Then there's the car. Or lack there of. I think my uncle is giving me his subaru...it's not purty but I'm told it drives and it's free. Which I've learned means receiving it is free, but maintaining it will not be. joy of joys to own a car built in the decade in which I am currently living. That is a goal!
